Madrigal Dinner Tickets On Sale
Stevenson’s Madrigal Singers will hold their annual Madrigal Dinner on Sunday, March 16, at noon and 6 p.m. at The Arboretum Club in Buffalo Grove. This year’s show is titled “The Match Breaker” and will feature a cappella singing, acting, dancing, trumpeters, fencers, a string ensemble, and royal banquet, all intertwined with a humorous theatrical experience.

Co-Curricular Fair Coming in March
The annual Co-Curricular Fair for incoming freshmen will be held Wednesday, March 19 in the Field House. The event allows members of Stevenson’s Class of 2018 an opportunity to find out information about student involvement in their school outside the classroom. Incoming freshmen will have a chance to sign up for several opportunities, and hear from representatives of clubs, sports teams and the intramural program.
Memorial Service for Former Staff Member
A memorial service for former SHS staff member Marcia Aresty-Kochan will be held at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday at Temple Beth Judea in Long Grove. Following the service, the family will receive callers at 250 Lake Blvd. in Buffalo Grove from 6-9 p.m. Aresty-Kochan, 65, who worked in Stevenson’s mentor program for 11 years, died Tuesday after suffering a heart attack in Boston. She had moved to Boston three years ago to be with her son, Jamie Aresty, a Stevenson graduate, and his family.
February Visiting Artist of the Month
Mixed media painter Keith Grace is the SHS Art Department’s Visiting Artist of the Month for February. Samples of his work are on display in the Rotunda Gallery of the West Building, and the artist will come to SHS and meet with students during periods 2 and 4 on Friday, February 21. Since 1988, Grace has exhibited and sold his paintings across the country in galleries, museums and universities, through one-man and group shows. He has participated in more than 100 art festivals and invitational exhibitions, and has won many awards for his work. You can view his work and more atkeithgrace.com.
No Digest Monday
The Daily Digest will not be published Monday, which is Presidents Day. Stevenson is closed in observance of the federal holiday. The Digest will return on Tuesday.
Thursday’s Varsity Results
Stevenson at IHSA Niles North Sectional: Elizabeth Shank and Alyssa Weisberg qualified for the state tournament in the all-around competition, and also will compete in several individual events. Shank was second in the all-around (36.925), tied for second in floor exercise (9.4), was fourth in vault (9.35) and fifth on uneven parallel bars (8.9). Weisberg, the defending state champion in balance beam, won that event (9.625) and was fourth in the all-around (36.625). She and Shank also remain in the running for at-large berths for events in which they didn’t place in the top five. SHS finished third in the team standings with 137.65 points, behind New Trier (142.875), which qualified for the state tournament, and Carmel (141.05). – Official results | Daily Herald
